EAST OF ENGLAND PIPEBAND

The band started in 2013 by a group of students under tuition by Pipe Major Tom Fleming (ex 1st Btn. Scots Guards piper.) He was asked by them if it would be possible to form a band and this he agreed to do.

Several local pipers from the Peterborough Highland Pipe Band and the Cambridgeshire Caledonian Pipe Band were invited to join along with a couple of drummers known to the pipe major. This gave a nucleus of skill with which to create a  higher grade competing pipe band for Peterborough and Cambridge, with the aim is to improve the standard of piping and drumming in the area. Robert Hall was then asked to take over band tuition as Director of Music to relieve the pipe major so that he could concentrate on setting up the band and covering administration. During 2013 and 2014 junior and senior soloists have had a good deal of success in competition and we are now looking forward to adding Quartet Competitions in 2015.

We now have six solo competition level pipers and three novice pipers four drummers and two dancers available for either solo engagements, a mini band or a full band.
